An update on my DIY Headphones stand

As you all know,i have been recently working on my DIY Headphones Stand, this week i started painting it,i got an can of clear gloss, and a brush i found and started painting,i was surprised that the paint was dry after about 2 hours. Anyways after about the 3rd layer of paint,i noticed some wierd black stuff on the stand, and then i realised it was the bristles from the brush, apperently that was an old and cheap brush..
I wanted my stand to be perfect so i scraped the paint with sandpaper,Yesterday i went and bought a better paintbrush, hopefully this one wont leave bristles on my stand,i will start painting today, hopefully i will get it done in 2-3 days.

  1. Do you get all your painting supplies at Home Depot or Michael's or something? How much does all of that cost, I wonder... Glad to see you updating, mate. Looks great so far.

  2. I've never had to do anything like this since i opted for a kickass surround system instead of headphones. My neighbors probably wished I hadn't tho.

  4. Damn, I hate when that happens. You plan carefully and do everything gently and then you make one little compromise and it ends up ruining a perfect run :|

  9. Looks good. Hope you have better luck this time. Scraping paint off again would be pretty terrible x_X.

  10. That looks good so far, sorry to hear you had to scrap the paint, cheap brushes are simply not worth the savings of buying a new one...

  13. Take your time painting, the better you paint it the better it'll look obviously but the paint will also protect the wood to a certain degree as well. And you don't want any paint chipping off later on

  19. Good job noticing the bristles. I'd have probably left them and called it 'texture'. But then again, I'm diy lazy.

  24. man, i should make one of thoes too, i have a nice pair of surround sound headphones, one of the speakers broke because it was dropped off of my desk (i repaired it, just had to re solder a wire...) but a stand would have saved me all that work!

followed, because i want to see the stand :p

  25. Didn't quite expect that the material would be wood. Quite the pleasant surprise : ) It looks nice and it's always great to use natural materials.
