Lately i started playing more with my PS3,i recently got Killzone 3 for it,and i've been quite enjoying this game,i was also playing Uncharted 1 and 2,i was 'preparing' for the release of the 3rd Uncharted..
So a few days ago i wanted to play some Killzone 3,so i inserted the disk into my PS3,and suddenly it wont recognize my disk,i tried to eject it but i wont even eject,it was making wierd noises.. i even tried putting my ps3 upside down, nothing helped though.
A few days later,i tried to eject the disk and it worked! i tried to insert another disk,to see if it would recognize it,and the disk was not recognized, but i could eject it..
I'm pretty sure its only the Blu Ray drive that causes the problem, and it would probably cost about ~100$ to fix it,so i thought i would get a Bluray drive off ebay and fix it myself,i mean.. how hard can it be?
Sorry for your loss :( I hope everything works out and that your solution will work.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure my ps3 will live forever. I've had it for years now and its still great... all the way through beating disgaea 4 and beyond!
ReplyDeleteWhaaaat that sucks... make sure you look into exactly how to fix it before you get stuck in... do you not have a warranty?
ReplyDeleteI had that problem, too. D:
ReplyDeletei know how it feels for your equipment to not work. my xbox is starting to crap out on me
ReplyDeleteSad days my friend. I'm looking to get a PS3 soon anyways, hope this doesn't end up happening to me.
ReplyDeleteYa this reminds me of my video card breaking after 1 year.
ReplyDeleteThat's dissapointing to hear, this kind of equipment should be more resilient,
ReplyDeleted.e.p.
ReplyDeleteSucks, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe cost of the replacement BluRay drive is insignificant to the price of brand new PS3. They're pretty easy to replace, and fun too if tinkering with electronics is your thing.
ReplyDeleteMy xbox got the rings of death, but they fixed it quickly.
ReplyDeleteyep happened twice to me
ReplyDeleteSorry for that man...
ReplyDeleteWhere do game consoles go when they die?
ReplyDeleteTo that big game stop in the sky.
I'd just buy a new one if it were me. Really sucks though, I don't use my PS3 too much.
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad =(
ReplyDeleteThat sucks dude hope you're able to get that fixed.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very commom problem...
ReplyDeleteI hope you can fix it soon.
Yeah same thing happened to me... except i crammed 2 disks into the drive and it broke. crappy sony! haha
ReplyDelete2 discs! Ouch!
ReplyDeleteI still wish they would put a damn disk changer in one of these things...or allow us to download the game from disk and play without it. I hate getting comfy on the couch and changing my mind on what I want to play
while i have seen more xboxes die than ps3's i ahve been shown 2 ps3's with damaged bluray drive, they wont read discs at all, one was banged up and the client had money so he just bought the slim new one, the other one we tried to replace the motherboard circuit of the drive to another so it would pass the copyright protection, but it wouldnt work then we changed the laser parts of the new one to the old one.. and still wouldnt work =(
ReplyDeleteDisc drives have always been problem. That's why my N64 will never die :D
ReplyDeletethat sucks man. the kids in africa should make you a new one.
ReplyDeleteThat really sucks D:
ReplyDeleteDon't think like that. But it's true, they don't make things like they used to because then people would never have to buy new stuff. It's a scheme that marketers have mastered. Why do you think there are always new iPhones?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't start messing with it..
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that ):
ReplyDeletethats pretty sad -_-
ReplyDeletedude, it's not so bad, you can pick one up cheapish and fit it. just be careful as ther's always one pesky screw in these things that refuse to budge :P
ReplyDeleteare you gonna buy another one?
ReplyDeletegood blog i'm just starting mine
man that sucks I hate it when a console goes bad, I had to replace my out of warrantee xbox recently because of a DVD drive fail. Followed
ReplyDeleteThats depressing, hope you can fix it
ReplyDeletenice blog dude, supported!!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not that hard. There's like, a hundred guides on the internet on how to do it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
It's like the xbox version of RROD. As a recipient of this I feel your pain and loss.
ReplyDeleteeverything does break and it ssad
ReplyDeleteso sad :( I have PS3 too and it must be hard to lose it :(
ReplyDeleteA buddy of mine once put two disks in his ps3 by accident. did not go well at all
ReplyDeleteI don't own a PS3 but I am on my 5th xbox. I love my xbox but it is a piece of junk. Very poor quality...
ReplyDeleteHad the same problem before... I hate how flimsy the consoles are....
